Hello! I'm a month into my law degree and am so far I am enjoying it immensely (contracts, foundations, lawyers/justice/ethics, Australian public law - aaaaall about the constitution and the history of the common law). If all goes according to plan (so far, so good, fingers crossed) within three to three and a half years I'll have completed the LLB and an LLM. I'll be 26, it seems like a good deal (there's an girl in my class who lived in England for some years, and we both bitched about the fact Australia doesn't have a bridging course like England does. It would make the whole process less time consuming). Canberra is cold, cold city, but I am loving the ANU and the coursework. In two weeks I go back to Melbourne to have my BA conferred to me (nearly a year after I actually finished the degree itself), so these are busy times. Where I get the time to watch an hour of the Simpsons and half an hour of Neighbours every day I don't know. But I manage. :p I'm not supposed to be doing any paid work at the moment so I'm looking for volunteer work vaguely related to the law that I can do a few days a week here in Canberra.

Congratulations Vin! And I'm glad you liked Budapest. I was thinking of making a trip there soonish, but I'm basically going to be studying trimesters after this summer (when I'll hopefully doing some legal aid work at an asylum seeker resource centre back in Melbourne), so I don't know when that will be.

Right now, I'm having a beer. Lukewarm, delicious beer. Mental note: do not put beer near heater.
