Roll over Encarta. Have a peep at this.

Enthusiasm has been leaking since the beginning of April. I don't think I can keep this up. Only a month left. A fucking month. I'll do the bastard standing on my head. Graduation falls on the day after my b-day. I'm gonna get so drunk I'll forget the century.

Prospective things after graduation:

1/ A social experiment where I recite a bunch of lines at the top of my voice on a train, then repeat only this time with a ear phone (suggesting a hands-free kit).

2/ Making realistic body parts to stick beside a statue on campus that has sunk into the soil. In theory this will make it look like if has fallen on top of someone. I have models sketched out in my head.

Stan Cross was an Australian caricaturist. His most famous cartoon was two steel workers dangling mid-air from a girder. Undoubtedly facing certain death. The caption says, "Stop laughing for gor sakes: This is serious!". Looked like he plied his trade around early 20thC.

I can't remember who it was either - I have a feeling it was Howard - who said that Australia is like the US' deputy sherrif. VERIFIED!

Avhan just visited. Good times.

Want to see Johnny English! Came out a few weeks ago. Must see it when not busy/tired/lazy.

Explain who/what/where Stan Cross is. Please.

Ever heard of Stan Cross, Joli?

Vinny give me a call, I've gone and lost your phone number again.

Iraq is probably a no man's land after the extensive bombing of fuck all. A pundit in the Independent categorised Iraq as a "society". I think there are misconceptions about what Iraq "is".

In the west, society is overtly sectarian and that view is inseperable from the catholic faith. But an overtly religious society, is typically authoritarian. But certainly the western civilization doesn't live in a state of authoritarianism, we have the burden of choice.

Iraq is a regime. There are gulags that hide mass graves of kurdish people. Saddam is a monster who has to be ousted. Infrastructure is so weak, the US should be sired with the rebuilding.

I don't like it one bit. Selfishly speaking, I'm slowly navigating several trains of thought. One about narrative technique in the representation of the Holocaust.

I was thinking of coming up to Durham either sunday or monday. Give a day, you Madrasite

Australia doesn't have nukes. Some time ago we signed a non proliferation treaty. Australia is the most middle of middle powers on the earth. I read an article awhile ago that suggests it's the middle countries that count in international politics, but I'm not sure. I also read an article last week that said something along the lines of Australia could be the most powerful nation in the world. I don't remember off the top of my head what the reasoning behind that was, but I remember thinking 'that is definetely plausible.'

More on future governments later. Must sleep.

That's what I was wondering about, M.C. Vin - issues of enforcing international law, bleh blah etc. 'illegalness' and stuff. Is that a word? AYA!!

I am excited now - I am taking an international human rights course next semester (final year before honours. Someone decide on a thesis topic for me please)! Your professer has whet my appetite. There was a debate recently at the Melbourne Town Hall where a professor of law from uni, Gillian Triggs, talked on the legalities of this Iraqi war (she is Co-Director of the Institute of Comparative and International Law).

The war is over? I know there has been some debate over who is going to 'organise' Iraq now that most major cities seem to have been won over by the might of America's (and, in much smaller font, Britain's) enormous war penis. The UN? America? Adam Sandler?

Aside. Not one Australian, aside from a journalist, was killed during this war. Which leads me to believe that it was a waste of time being there, and Bush was giving us busy work because Howards is a major kiss arse. He also wants Australia to be his 'deputy sherrif' (Howard's words, not mine) in the Asia-Pacific region. Like Australia has any weight in international matters compared to Pakistan/India/Japan/China/North Korea. Good golly!

someone could probably confirm this for me, but i vague thoughts in my head about it being 'illegal' for an invading country to benefit from the invaded country's resources (including oil). something like that. did i dream this up? confirm or deny. CONFIRM OR DENY. (yes, you).

so, that war, huh?
